Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Find My Correct Ring Size?
Take your ring to a local jeweler for free sizing. This is the best way to get the right fit, especially for the bandwidth you like. Avoid using online tools or makeshift methods like string or paper, as they can give inaccurate results. I can resize your ring later if needed, but getting it right from the start is easier.
What If I Get My Ring Size Wrong?
No worries! Most rings can be resized for a small fee plus shipping. If it’s a surprise or a special occasion, I’ll work with you to make accommodations.
Can I Return an Item If It’s Not What I Expected?
Since every ring is custom-made, returns aren't possible for personalized orders. I involve you in the design process through photos, videos, or live consultations to ensure you love your ring. All stones are ethically sourced, and while I can't guarantee a perfect match, I will do my best to find the right stone for your vision.
Do You Offer Repairs?
Absolutely! Although repairs are rare, I’d be happy to help if something happens to your ring.
How Long Will My Order Take to Arrive?
- Ready-to-Ship Styles: 5–7 days for final sizing, polishing, and packaging.
- Custom Designs: Typically 7–9 weeks from start to finish. This ensures time to source stones, repurpose heirloom pieces, and craft your perfect ring.

Can I Use a Stone I Purchased?
Yes, provided it’s certified and of high quality. Additional documentation and work may be required, but we can discuss this during the design process.
Do You Charge Sales Tax?
Sales tax is only charged on orders purchased and shipped within North Carolina.
How Will My Package Be Shipped?
The ring will come in a Melissa Tyson Designs jewelry box, nicely packed in a plain, insured box for your privacy. If you want it sent to a different address or have specific instructions, just let me know while we design.
How Do I Care for My Ring?
Use mild dish soap, warm water, and a soft toothbrush to clean your ring. Once a year, take it to a jeweler to check the prongs or bezel and get a free steam cleaning. This helps keep your jewelry shining and in great shape for years.
